“I feel meaningfully engaged, I am happy I can put a smile on a child’s face and teach them something new”
The purpose of the project was to reach out to the larger society through puppetry and theatre, at the same time, promoted life-skills development amongst participating Care leavers. Amongst other personal benefits, the active participation and interaction with the puppets built their confidence and self-esteem. The project also did provide important opportunities for them to earn a living. The project was able to reach over 700 children with life skills and children’s rights messages children in charitable children’s institutions as well as in the community. The project was interactive and participatory, ensuring the participation of children, as well as young people.
We are a registered Society with a growing collective of young people and adults with lived experience with representation across all Counties in Kenya.
